Show LOCAL WOMAN IS TENDERED HONOR Mrs. Tom D. Pitt Accepts Invitation to Take Part in Organizing Progressive Progres-sive Democracy League. Mrs. Elizabeth Bass of Chicago, chairman chair-man of the woman ;s bureau of the Democratic national committee in the recent campaign, is forming an organization organiza-tion of women which will be known as "The League for Progressive Democracy. Democ-racy. ' ' In line with her intentions, Mrs. Bass has written to Mrs. Tom D. Pitt of this city, secretary of the Women's Pioneer Yoodrow Wilson club, inviting her to take part in the formation of the organization. organi-zation. Mrs. Bass sets out in her communication communica-tion to Mrs. Pitt that ever since election women, both in the states that have suffrage and those that do not, have been urging a national organization to crystalize the legislative policies of President Wilson, with an office and executive committee in the national capital, from which place a bulletin service will be maintained for women all over the country, and it is from this idea that the formation of the league has been determined upon. It has been decided, Mrs. Bass says, to appoint a provisional committee comprising com-prising women from all states to work in their respective commonwealths to the end that the league may soon be formed, and Mrs. Pitt is urged to accept a place upon the committee as representative represen-tative from Utah. Mrs. Pitt has advised ad-vised Mrs. Bass that she will accept the appointment. |
