Show RULING ON POSTAL HONEY .SHIPMENTS A postoffice ruling of great moment to the honey-making- industry throughout the west, and more particularly to beekeepers bee-keepers In the Uinta basin, has just been rendered by J. S. Roberts of the San Francisco headquarters of the parcel post division at the request of Postmaster Day id Bennion of Vernal. The ruling, which reverses the former order, Is that uncrated honey may be mailed In cans, so long as the contents are sdlid and not likely to leak and so damage other mail. As a result of this ruling, Anton Strebel and James Marshall oi the Uinta basin have just started shipment to Salt Iake City of 20,000 pounds ofi candied honey. This shipment is going out In 4iH) cans of fifty pounds each. Under the parcel post regulations, each slupper can send but 200 pounds daily. |
