CHICAGO, Feb. 15 Tlie seventeenth seven-teenth sekson of the American league will open April 11, according to the official schedule for 1917, as made public pub-lic tonight. The 1917 chart calla for the usual 154 games and three trips around the circuit, the season closing October 4, with 'Washington at Boston. The other six clubs are scheduled to end hostilities hostili-ties on October 1, with Chicago at New York, St. Louis at Boston, Detroit at Philadelphia and Cleveland at Washington. Wash-ington. It may be possible, however, to advance the three games which Boston Bos-ton has scheduled for the tail end of the season. New York, Philadelphia, Detroit and St. Louis have been awarded the augural series. The world's championsS. will be the attraction at New York, Washington will oppose Philadelphia, while Cleveland tackles Detroit Chicago plats at St. Louis. Pour-gaw; series are booked for each city and the "home-and-home" series are then continued in the west and east until the second week in May. The invasion of the west by the eastern east-ern clubs has been set for May 1Q. New York will visit Chicago, Philadelphia will he at St. Louis, Boston at Detroit and Washington at Cleveland. The invasion of the east by the western west-ern clubs will begin May 31 and dune 1. Detroit and Cleveland will load the advance ad-vance guard on May 31. They will play at New York and Boston, respectively. Chicago and St. Louis open hostilities on the following day at Philadelphia and Washington.
