Engineer Jackson saw the mangled body lying on the track, but before he couldx bring the train to a stop the engine en-gine and one car had passed over the body. - As local freight No. 83 made the crossing about, a half hour before the extra came along, it is believed by the train crew that' this must have been the train-that killed the man. Jn the-.man's pockets were found cards' bearing the. name of Charles McDevitt, also a card from the -Moose lodge of-this city bearing bear-ing this name. Tt was learned by the police that Charles McDevitt, reidincr at 612 West Sixth South street, left his home last night and expected to catch a train to Idaho.' He had a wife and one child.
