ARRANGE RECEPTIONS Vice Presidential Candidate Candi-date Will Be Given Every Attention While Here. Charles Warren Fairbanks. He publican nominee for vice president of the United Slates, will cross the Colorado-Utah state line this niorninK for a two days' stay in Utah. He and his party are traveling in a special car, on train No. 15, over tile iJcnvei & Rio Grande, and are scheduled sched-uled to arrive in Salt Lake shortly after 1 1 o'clock tonight. Arrangements have been made with the raihoad company for (if teen-minute stops at Green River, Price and Helper, where talks will be made by the vice presiden-i presiden-i iai nominee from the rear platform of the ti n in. State Chairman Glen Miller, and a reception re-ception committee composed of prominent liepublican wurkera of the state, will leave here over the Denver & Rio Grande at 4:45 o'clock this afternoon for Provo. where they will extend the official welcome wel-come of the party to the distinguished visitors. Upon arrival at Salt Lake Mr. Uair banks will be taken directly to the Hotel Utah, where the presidential suite has been reserved for his use. There will be no special dent onst rat ion at t lie station on account of the late hour. Revised Itinerary. So many and' varied have been the demands for the time of Mr. Fairbanks during his stay in Utah that the Republican Re-publican stale committee has found it necessary to revise his itinerary several times. At 10 o'clock tomorrow morning be will be taken on an automobile tour of the city, but the drive has been limited lim-ited to one hour to accommodate other eir-iHgements. His tour of the city will include a visit to the state capitol and a vleit to Governor Spry. At 11 o'clock a special organ recital bus been arranged for Mr. Fairbanks and members of his party at t he tabernacle. The recital will last about an hour, and from 2 o'clock to l:3i he will receive .informally the various Republican candidates candi-dates at the Hotel Utah. Reception at Club. From the Hotel Utah. Mr. Fairbanks will he whisked to the Commercial club, where he will be the guest of Chairman Miller and the Republican state commit -tew at a luncheon given in his honor. On account of space for only 300 diners al the cluh, the list of Invited guests necessarily neces-sarily has been limited. The Invited guests will Include prominent promi-nent members of the party, as woll as prominent business men of the city. Ne-phi Ne-phi L. Morris. Republican nominee for governor, will act as toaatmaster. The informal reception at the Commercial Commer-cial club, following the luncheon, has been eliminated from the programme. At '. o'clock a parade will be formed at the Commercial club and Mr. Fairbanks will be taken to the Richards street Auditorium, Audi-torium, where he will deliver an address at 3:15 o'clock. A lalk also will be made by Nephi L. Morris. Senator Reed Smool will serve as chairman of the meeting. At 4:15 o'clock Mr. Fairbanks will be taken to the slate fair grounds, where he will give a short lalk from the grandstand grand-stand at the race track. In order that all who so desire may hear the talk at the fair grounds, there will be no charge for admittance to the grandstand. Mr. Fairbanks and his party will leave here over the Salt Lake Route at 6:13 o'clock for southern California. |
