Show , PREMATURE JOY. The Berlin newspapers have heard rumors of the arrival of the merchant submarine Bremen at the port of New! London and have taken it fur granted that the subsea vessel actually arrived-Consequently arrived-Consequently their columns have been filled with rejoicings. Their disappointment disappoint-ment will be great when they learn that little has been heard of the Bremen ou this side of the water except that she has been expected to arrive at any moment mo-ment for the last two or three months. From time to time it has been reported that the sister ship of the Peutschland had been sunk or captured by the British, Brit-ish, an'! it begins to look as though one of the reports might proe true. The only thing certain in connection with the whole matter is that the little vessel ves-sel has not anived at any port in this country. She. may have been captured or destroyed or she may be dodging the British war vessels somewhere along the Atlantic coast. She may slip past the enemy and reach port at any time, but it does not seem probable that merchant mer-chant submarines are going to increase the trade between Germany and the United States to any appreciable extent. |
