Show SCHOOLS PROSPER BY CONSOLIDATION Carbon County Superintendent Eeports Benefits Arising From Opera- tion of New Plan. A net difference In favor of school consolidation con-solidation of $24,725.11 is shown in the report of Superintendent S. W. Golding of Carbon county In his comparative statement just submitted to state and county school officials. Superintendent GoMinpr has been working on the report since the work was authorized, July 18. The report, which Is also signed hy O. J. Harmon, chairman or the board oT education, says, in substance, that all the schools during the first year under consolidation con-solidation had nine months of school, while in 1914-lDlii. under the old system, , Wellington and Carbonville had but eight ! months each. Under consolidation a modern four-room srhool hits been completed at Storrs, costing $1100; a new buliding is under construction at Standardville and another at Cameron, the two to cost ? 10,500. The school at Simnyslde has been repaired at a cost of J-oOti, and $1100 lias been expended ex-pended in rompletini? the school building at Price. All this work has been paid for out of the revenue for school purposes for the year. There are still sufficient funds on hand to start the schools this year. There were also four more teachers employed In 1915-1916 than in the previous year. |
