Show BIG SEASON PLANNED FOR L. D. S. U. SPORTS Coach George Kynearson Outlines Plans for Coming Year; Squads to Be Large. Coach George A. Rynearson and B. S. Hinckley of the Peseret gymnasium addressed ad-dressed the students of the L. D. S. U. yesterday morning during the long devotional devo-tional exercises. Yesterday was Rynear-son's Rynear-son's first appearance before the Gold and Blue student hody and he was given a rousing reception. Coach Rynearson outlined the policy of the Deseret .gym In regards to L. D. S. U. athletics. When Austin P. Miller, last year's coach, failed to return from No-gales, No-gales, Ariz., where he is serving with the national guard, it was planned bv the gymnasium directors and the executive committee of the school to place the athletics ath-letics under the direction of the gymnasium gymna-sium officials. An entirely different policy than that which has heretofore existed In regards to the number of men who will be allowed to make the suuad in any sport has been adopted. In basketball, twentv men will be carried on the stiuad instead of only seven or eight, as has been the custom in past yearb. Under this plan any man w ho appears to be overwork ed or f a i 1 s to train will be suspended and one of the other men will take his place in the first five. If he shows improvement he may be returned to his position. Lvery able-bodied boy in the school will be expected to try out for the various teams. The Gold and Blue students are highly confident of a banner year in athletics. Elmer Dean, basketball captain and star baseball and track man, has returned to school, it was rumored when school started that the husky blond would not return, but he has dispelled all fears and is now enrolled. Orson Wright and Milton Mil-ton Goodridge. two other tirat-team basketball bas-ketball men. are back on the rolls, and in addition to these hoys several athletes from out of town, who have made reputations repu-tations in other high schools, have signed up at t lie L.
