Keen reported the completion comple-tion of the Brown university committee of the Hughes National College league. Mr. Hughes graduated from this university univer-sity and more than 100 of the graduates have volunteered to speak and work for the election of the Republican national ticket this fall. Raymond Robins left today for a speaking speak-ing trip through Oklahoma. He will speak at Durant, September 15, and Perry, September Sep-tember 16. LEAD OF CARLSON SHOWS INCREASE AS VOTES COME IN DENVER, Sept. 13. Returns coining In slowly from Tuesday's state-wide primary in Colorado early tonlKlU increased the lead of Governor George A. Carlson over Samuel D. Nicholson for the gubernatorial nomination on the Republican ticket. Nicholson's lead of 2370 In Denver, complete, com-plete, had been wiped out by out-state returns, which showed that Carlson was leading by 54-2 In outside counties. Nicholson supporters tonight refused to concede defeat, declaring that mining counties yet might roll up such a vote that it would require the official count to decide. They admitted, however, Carlson Carl-son was leading by a substantial margin. William N. Vallc appears to have been nominated for congress for the First district dis-trict by the Republicans. Congressman rieniamln C. Milliard was renominated by the Democrats. In the Third district. . O Peterson was leading for the Republican Repub-lican nomination.
