Show M WILL VOTE l Si! ROAD BONDS Proposition Is to Be Submitted Sub-mitted to Voters of County Coun-ty Next November. Following out the lines suggested by David Matt son, secretary of state, iu regard to the permissibility of counties increasing; their bonded indebtedness for good road purposes, word has boen received re-ceived that the question to bond Uinta county for good roads has been revived by the board of county commissioners and a $o0,000 good roads bond issue will be submitted November 7. The matter first arose at the June meeting, when the board adopted a resolution providing for a $40, Out) bond issue. The matter, however, was permitted per-mitted to lie quiescent. At the iirst September meeting of the commissioners, commission-ers, George F, WUkins made a proposition propo-sition which was unanimously adopted. The taxpayers are to be' asked to authorize bonds to the amount of $50,-OuO. $50,-OuO. Of this amount $10,0ut) is to be paid back to the county geueral fund tor the money spent oil the new steel bridge over Green river at Jensen. The postponement from June until November, it is said, was made in order to save the $700 which would have been an expense incident to holding a special spec-ial election. Supervisor William M. Anderson of the Ashley national forest is also seeking seek-ing the co-operation of the county in establishing a highway from Vernal to the Wyoming state line. The forestry supervisor is asking the forest department depart-ment for from $2.1,000 to $30,001) for the construction of such a road through the forest reserves. Three routes are being considered and the one most favored is said to be that by way of the Brush creek sinks, two eastern Utah scenic wonders, by Willow Wil-low springs and over to Lucerne 'valley. Such a road would make the county j seat accessible to those residing on the eastern side of the range and would strike through the dry farm belt on Diamond mountain and the most populous cattle range. The county commissioners have notified noti-fied the forestry commissioner that the county will build all the necessary road up to the forest reserve from Vernal and from the reserve to the Wyoming line. |
