Show ORDERS FOR OIL BFffl RECORD Motorists Buy Heavily in Anticipation of Price Advance. As a rule, December Is not & banner month In which to sell refrigerators or automobile oils, but this month has been an exception with the Culrners company and more of the famous culco oils have been sold than for any previous December. Decem-ber. TV. F. Culmer, general manager, is quoted as saying that the coming of peace in war-stricken Europe will 'undoubtedly 'un-doubtedly tend to increase the tension in America in oil envies, and there is little prospect of any orders being cancelled, as the product will be more extensively used for other purposes, and the forecast advance on January 1 of all lubricating oils is sure to come. Mr. Culmer says his firm will fill orders received this month at present prices, but after tlie new year at least 5 per cent increase will be necessary, as dealers deal-ers and jobbers will be paying more than the present retail prices and with no assurance as-surance of having their orders filled. Mr. Culmer continued: "We are making every effort to protect pro-tect our regular dealers and their customers, cus-tomers, and we are accepting cheerfully the brunt of the increase in prices, but it will be impossible for us to continue present prices long, and already some of the vastly inferior brands are selling for more money than Culco oils. "I am not anxious to empty our big tanks. We can make a nice profit by closlns our doors until the new year, hut so long as our customers send In their orders we will fill them in turn. We are certainly experiencing a busy December." |
