The heavy sale of Rod Cross Christmas Christ-mas 6eals is rnpidly making a big health campaign for Vtah the com in c: yoar a certainty. Tho money realized" from the sale of the seals will be spent within with-in the state, primarily to combat tuberculosis, tuber-culosis, and also to improve genera 1 health and sanitary conditions. The sale of tho seals has one more week to run. Officials of tho Vtah Public Health association, who are directing di-recting the sflie, estimate that the total proceeds will come close to $10,000 if the little stickers go as fast as during the past two weeks. Dr. T. B. Beatty, state health commissioner and member of the executive committee of the association, as-sociation, in discussing tho coming campaign, cam-paign, said: It looks as if we would have enough money to carry out most of our plans. Wo will establish branches of the health association in practically every town under the direction of .our field secretary, Frank W. Le ('lore. WP will then locate every case of tuberculosis, take all prccaut ions against a spread of the disease ami give all treatment in our power. Nurses who are tuberculosis specialists will .be employed in the larger cities, and will work in co-operation with the local health boards. Vtah has 1 a remarkably good record in the small number oi consumptives, and it is our intention to see that the record is maintained, and even bettered. |
