Show THREE CARLOADS OF ORANGES CONDEMNED Heber C, Smith, state dairy and food commissioner, yesterday seized two carr loads of frosted oranges at Ogden and is preparing to seize a third now on its way to Salt Lake to prevent sale of the fruit In Utah. The oranges, he says, were shipped from i California and became frozen en route.' The law prohibits the sale of frozen fruit in this state and the commissioners will prevent the fruits from being offered ort tiie local marnet. In cold weather, the commissioner states, he experiences considerable trouble trou-ble with frozen truit. Shippers and dealers deal-ers seek to slip k through when it becomes be-comes frozen en route, that they mav make as much as possible out of it., by selling it out at greatly reduced prices This Is not permitted under the law, however, and the authorities are kept on the ulert at this season of the year to detect such shipments and prevent tho fruit being placed upon tho market. |
