Show Coffee Futures. NEW YORK. Nov. 3. The market for coffee futures was quiet today, with prices working higher on covering, combined with a little trade buying and some support sup-port from outside sources. In the afternoon after-noon the demand became more active, with March selling up from 8.39c to 8.50c, and May 8 51c to 8.59c. The close was j eleven to fifteen points net higher. Sales, 20,010 bags November, 8.30c: December, 8. 35c; January, S.40c; February, 8.44c;1 March, 8.48c; April, 8.53c; May, 8.58c; June, S.62c; July, S.67c; August, 8.71c; September, 8.67c; October, 8. Sic. The spot market was dull and nominally nominal-ly unchanged, with quotations on the basis of 9c for Rio 7s and 10c for Pantos 4s. Cables were delayed, but It was reported that few cost and freight offers received indicated no change in tiie primary situation. Owing to the holiday, there were no official cables from Brazilian markets. Victor reported clearances of 12,000 bags for New York. |
