With few exceptions, excep-tions, tile more Important eastern college foot hall teams face comparatively easv games tomorrow, and defea t, with 1 heir big contests only a week or two away, would be the most sensational form up-Bet up-Bet of the season. Among tho leading elevens, the Army and Navy teams ap pear to have the most- dangerous oppo- nenta of the day. The Army will figure In one lntersec-fional lntersec-fional game, meeting Notre Dame. While West Point Is admitted to be stronger than a year ago, the Indiana collegians have not abandoned hope of repeating the victory of last season, and reports indicate in-dicate that the tram is fujhy as formidable as twelve months ago. The cadets, however, how-ever, have piled up an Impressive record themselves and the contesL at West Point should be one of the best in this section tomorrow. The Navy faces the Washington and Lee eleven, which the Army defeated October Oc-tober 7 by a i score of 14 to 7. All three combinations jnvolved in this triangle have improved considerably since early season. i Colgate will go to New Haven in an 1 attempt to repeat its 1916 victory over the Blue, but the New York slate team will find Yale an entirely different proposition propo-sition from that of a year ago. Both learns have shown that they are above the ordinary this season. Neither has been defeated and while they have not met a mutual opponent an analysis of their records leads to the opinion among football followers that Yale is likely to triumph by a narrow margin. Princeton and Pennsylvania have drawn comparatively weak opponents and each eleven should come through to victory. The Tigers will be opposed by Bucknell. Lafayette will face Pennsylvania, and there is nothing in the record of the eleven which would indicate that the Quakers will be forced hard to score a victory. Much interest will attach to the Harvard-Virginia game. In view of the fact that Yale defeated the southerners, 61 to 3, earlier In the season. Cornell will line up against Carnegie Tech, with its team in the process of reconstruction and, as the visitors are above the ordinary in strength, speed and strategy, the contest should be close and interesting, with the Ithaca eleven having the edge.
