Show U. DF U. DEBATERS LAYING THEIR PL1S Interesting Contests With Other Teams Expected During Winter. Debiting Coach W. H. Veatch of the University of Utah is laying his plana for the contests with the other institution insti-tution this winter. Two questions have already been selected. In the intrastate debates with the B. Y. U. and the Utah Agricultural college the following question will be discussed: ' ' Kesolved, That the Adamson Bill Should Be Repealed." n the debate with the University of Colorado the question will .be as follows: fol-lows: "Kesolved, That the Single Tax on Land Should Be Substituted in the United States for All Taxes, Both State and Local." Tho question tor the Montana Mon-tana debate has not yet been settled. The local institution suggested six questions, but the Montana institution has not announced a choice. In the intrastate debates there will be two teams to each institution and three men on a team. The University of Utah, the B. Y. U. aud the Agricultural Agricul-tural college at Logan are tho members of the intrastate league. Each institution institu-tion will uphold both sides of the question ques-tion and will debate both sides on the same night. Utah will take the negative in the Colorado debate. The tryouts for this team will be held next semester and the , debate will come in April. The intrastate intra-state contests will be held in February. Febru-ary. President Widtsoe has appointed an advisory board to aid the debaters. The board is composed of representatives i from the elocution, the economics, the ! English and the history departments, J the idea being to give thorough train-1 train-1 ing in all branches of debating. The committee is composed of W. H. "Veatch of the elocution .department, Professor Thomas Beal of the economics department, depart-ment, Professor George E. Fellows of the history department, and L. M. Lar-sen Lar-sen of the English department. |
