The official statement issued tonight reads: In the region of Verdun the German Ger-man counter-attacks took on a character char-acter of extreme violence along the whole of our front, without it being yet possible to specify the considerable considera-ble number of effectives engaged. In the region of the Linge river one of our pilots, attacked by three enemv aeroplanes, brought down one of his adversaries and drove the other two to flight.
