Show REGISTRATION OF AUENST0 BEGIN As Bingham Canyon's post office of-fice is second class, under provisions pro-visions of the Alien Registration Act, approved June 28, 1910, all aliens in this district may register and be fingerprinted at the local office. The registration and fingerprinting fing-erprinting of aliens will begin August 27 and extend to December Decem-ber 27 at first and second class offices, county seats and specially designated offices, Postmaster Karl T. James states. It is expected that more than 3,500,000 non-citizens will register, regis-ter, 1'ostmasters will be given any needed extra help for registration regis-tration and fingerprinting. The post offices will send registration registra-tion cards to the aliens after they have filled out the original questionnaire ques-tionnaire and been fingerprinted. The complete forms will be sent to the immigration service, and the fingerprints will be sent to the federal bureau of investigation investi-gation for filing in a separate a-lien a-lien file. The law requldes all non-citizens 14 years of ag or older to register in person and be fingerprinted. finger-printed. Alien children under 14 years of age will be registered by their parents or guardians, but upon attaining their fourteenth birthday must appear for personal per-sonal registration and fingerprinting. finger-printing. Fine of $1000 and imprisonment imprison-ment of six months is prescribed for failure to register, for refusal refu-sal to be fingerprinted or for making false statements. Aliens will be requested to establish es-tablish identification, declare by what means they entered the United States, giving name of vessel if by sea. They also must describe any military or naval service they have had, list names of organizations to which they belong and describe activities in any group with which affiliated. Notice of change of address must be given within five days after such change. All information will be kept secret and loyal alien residents will be fully protected. Certificates Certifi-cates of registration will be given noncitizens who comply with the law as a protection against any unjust discrimination. |
