Show PREVENT FIRES BY PRECAUTION, MAYORADVISES Because of the severe drouth this summer and the seriousness serious-ness of resultant fire hazards, it is necessary that the city strictly enforce the ordinance governing building of bonfires. Mayor Ed Johnson states. Sec. 147 of the Revised ordinances ordi-nances of Bingham Canyon provides that "no person shall build or light any bonfire, campfire. nor light a fire to burn any rubbish at any place within this city within fifty yards of any building". The many frame buildings in Bingham are thoroughly dried out and if a fire started a serious ser-ious conflagration would likely like-ly result. The city officials also warn residents to be careful of fires in Dry Fork canyon. As it is main source of Bingham's water supply, a fire In this canyon can-yon would ruin the watershed. Violators of the ordinance quoted above will be prosecuted. |
