Seussel. chairman of !the Lions traffic committee, presided pre-sided at the meeting and repont-; repont-; I'd that he and Ross Marriott, committeeman in charge of traf-jfie traf-jfie Galena Days, had made a survey sur-vey of parking conditions in low- er Bingham and found that space for 500 cars is available if parking park-ing is carefully supervised. The j Lions committee will oversee : preparation of these lots and all '. arrangements before September ill and 12. i Visitors to Bingham Canyon during the celebration will be greeted at the lower end of the city by a welcoming committee and guided to a parking lot. Buses will make scheduled free-of-charge trips from the lots to the center of the city. As cars are parked tickets with numbers of the parking lots indicated will be given the drivers. The committee decided that no parking will be permitted on Main street during Galena Days. All local residents are urged to leave their cars in garages during dur-ing the celebration. The city officials will give police po-lice power to men directing traffic traf-fic and parking. It is the aim of the Lions and Galena Days committees com-mittees to see that the traffic problem of last year is not repeated re-peated at the 1940 celebration. , |
