OBTAINING LICENSES TO BE SAFEGUARDED Because of the fact that a new license was easily obtained for the Maxim cafe- shortly after the city commission com-mission had revoked that of tho proprietor, pro-prietor, a new ordinance may be enacted ny the city commission to cover such eases. ' Mayor W. Mont Forry has under confederation con-federation the advisability of an ordinance ordi-nance that application for a license iu connection with a location for which a Jieense had been revoked should be re-3orred re-3orred to the commission before being f ranted. It is not thought that the icenpo, regularly applied for, could be refused, but it is pointed out that the status of the person making application for the license should be determined before be-fore the consent of the commission for issuing the license would be given. The purpose of the ordinance, according accord-ing to Mayor Ferry, would bo to prevent pre-vent obtaining of licenses by subterfuge by persona whose licenses had been re-oked.
