Reimer, presidential candidate of the Socialist Labor party, in a speech at a meeting held to ratify his nomination here tonight, declared that, in the event of this country becoming involved in war, he and his followers would "block the manufacture and transportation transpor-tation of munitions to the troops in the field, f ' and would tell the capitalistic capital-istic classes to do the fighting themselves. them-selves. "When you get it into your head j that you are a commodity and that you are bought and sold in the labor mar-iket' mar-iket' he told his audience, "then you have come to a point where you are : able to consider whether you have a country to defend." Characterizing the military preparedness prepared-ness programme "of the owning class" as hostile to the interests and lives of the working people, the national convention con-vention adopted a resolution today which said in part: "The only national defense programme pro-gramme worthy of tho workers' attention atten-tion is the kind that contemplates defense de-fense of their own class interests against the only real enemy, which is ! the capitalist class, irrespective of j country, and to prepare by organiza- j tion, politically and industrially, to j seize the power of government and take j possessiou of industries in all countries, coun-tries, to the end that Socialism shall be established, thus establishing a community com-munity of economic interests of the peoples of all countries aud races which must result in abolishing wars together with the cause of wars forever."
