As it now stands, the ordinance wouM prohibit the parking of cars in the business busi-ness district fur lonRer than one hour. Borne business men have raised strenii-i strenii-i ous objection to this, declaring that. Halt I hake's streets are wide enough to allow the parking of cars without interfering with traffic. Others are equally strenuous in favoring; the parking restrictions. Charles A. Quigley. manager of the Studebaker company, appeared before the commission last night to urge the parking park-ing restriction. J in declared that tlie parking of cars in front of business property prop-erty caused the property to deteriorate in value as it prevented easy ingress and exit. It was detrimental to retail trade and was a use of the streets not contemplated In tlie general purpose of the streets. |
