("Rube") Dickinson, noted character actor and monologlst on the Orphucm circuit, cir-cuit, which occurred in Kansas City, Mo., yesterday, came as a great shock to a number of Salt Lakers who had known Mr. Dickinson since ho was a boy. Among the number v,as F. F. Stewart, well-known business man, who was a boy playmate of Mr. Dickinson In Lincoln. Neb., years ago. Dickinson was 40 years of age and was born near- Lincoln, lie always was a mimic and impersonator and tool; to the stage like a duck takes to ater. N in teen years ago he joined a stock company and played character (mostly "rube") parts for several years, after which he went to work in earnest to build his famous monologue. M r. Dickinson went into vaudeville fourt een years ago and his services al-wavs al-wavs had been in great demand.
