Show AMALGAMATED PIOCI TO BUILDNEW ILL A mill is to be constructed for handling the low-grade ores of the Amalgams ted-Pioche ted-Pioche mine, according to a circular letter let-ter being sent to the stockholders. The letter states that the development work commenced eighteen months a 20 has been success fully accomplished. The No. 1 shaft of the Raymond & Uly mine has been sunk from the 1200 to the 1400-foot level and about SuO feet of crosscuts and 'drifts run at the latter level. The water level of the country is at the 1200-foot point. The water lias ben lowered to the 1400-foot point and the normal flow Is being handled without any difficulty. In running the drift on the lower level the same ore body as existed on the 1200 -foot level -was found. The fissure in which the ore body occurs is very strong ar.d probably goes to great depth. It is from tins fissure on the upper levels that such large values were taken many yea rs ago. The company has mined and shipped several hundred tons of high-rado ore from the east stope of the 1200-foot level during the last, four months. The west stope has just been opened up and shows a good vein of bis'h-grade ore. This ore continues down from the 1 200 to the 1400-foot level and is still in the bottom of the drift. It has been crosscut cross-cut at the 1 SOO-foot and drifted on for 200 feet on the 140u-foot, the breast still being In ore. Sloping is now going on between the 1200 and the 1400-foot levels. The high -grade 7,!nc oro nets about $20 a ton at the mouth of the shaft, and averages about 40 per cent zinc. $2.50 gold, 00 ounces stiver and 2ft per cent lead. Shoots of high-grade lead-silver ore are also found. A carload which was taken out in the course of development assayed ?3.60 gold. 8!) ounces silver and 2o per cent lend, and netted $51 a ton. Arrangements are now being made to build a mill to treat tho low-trade ores, of which there is a large tonnage. The A ma lga mated -Pioche is owned jointly bv the Nevada-Utah interests, with thre'e-Iifths of the stock, and the Kentucky-Utah, a Utah corporation, with two-fifths of the stock. |
