Robert Johnson, John-son, live at o2 Kast Fifth South street, owns a littlo red sled which Santa Claus brought la ft Friday morning. Calvin is too nniall to keep up with bis older playmates play-mates when they aro out coasting, so late yesterday afternoon he "hooked" a wagon which was passing In front of his home. The little fellow was brought to police headquarters head-quarters and turned over to Captain F. V. Johnson- 'When he had recovered from Ills fright at being In the hands of the police, Calvin vainly tried to give directions concerning where he lived. "What does your papa do?" he was asked. "He plays with t me when he's home," came the answer. ' "What does he work at?" persisted Sergeant D. B. Keddlngton. "He don't have to work; he's got lots of money and stays at a big hotel," was the vague reply. Then, by adiolt questioning, ques-tioning, Keddlngton lea rned that the boy's father stays "downstairs where the big wheels go round." From this graphic description of his father's duties, the sergeant got busy on tho telephone and learned that Robert Johnson is chief engineer en-gineer of the Semloh hotel. Soon Mrs. Johnson called at the station, and the lad readily consented to go home if she would pull tho sled and let him ride. She consented. |
