Show TAXES DELINQUENT AT TOOfi HOUR A final warning a.eahist delinquency iu payment of taxes was issued by the county treasurer, R. C. Nay lor, yesterday. yester-day. Today at noon the treasurer will draw the .blinds on his receiving windows win-dows and no payments will be received thereafter until the delinquent list has been prepared. Af 1 e.r that delinquency will call for a 3 per cent penalty in addition to the tax. Double lines formed in front of the treasurer's office early yesterday morning, morn-ing, and throughout the day a steady stream of money poured across the counters coun-ters into the treasury. About $o00,ui0 was paid in yesterday. Most of this was in checks, many of them coming through the mail, but about $IO,0ft0 in cash accumulated ac-cumulated during the day. During the past three days about $1,500,000 has been received by the treasurer, relieving his apprehension that a much larger delinquency than usual would pile up. He estimates that nearly one-fifth of the total tax of nearly near-ly $4,000,000 will be delinquent at noon tomorrow. Th. treasurer has but nine days under un-der the new law in which to prepare his delinquent list. Eleven extra clerks have been engaged in his office aud three shifts will be worked during those nine days.
