Show ELECTRIC IEIIL LOCATION SEHLED Property on Valley Houst Corner Transferred to Interurban Interests. PROPERTY IS DONATED Mormon Church and Business Busi-ness Men on Upper Main Figure in Deal. The local ion of the new interurban : terminal was definitely settled yesterday yester-day when a deal was closed between ; the Mormon church and business men of upper Main street on the one hand, and the Salt Lake Terminal company ' on the other, by which the terminal company acquired the Valley house corner cor-ner and some adjacent property at ; South Temple and West Temple Btreets. In addition to the Valley house prop- 1 erty, which was donated by the church, the business men of upper Main street : gave the terminal company a cash bonus of $75,000. The deal has been under ivav for more than three weeks. ; The property acquired by the ter- i minal companv has a frontage on South , Temple street of 330 feet and on West Temple of 121 feet. The bonus, or a portion of it, will be used to obtain additional ad-ditional frontage on West Temple ! street, which will bring the terminal companv's holdings up to the driveway i adjoining the Gold hotel. In order to obtain some of the property needed condemnation con-demnation proceedings will Jbe neces- ! sarv. The proceedings will be begun as "soon as the papers can be prepared i. and it is expected that title will be acquired ac-quired within ten days. The terminal company has already acquired a right of war through the block westward to , First West street for its tracks into the i terminal station. ! Plan Temporary Depot. "Cpon the site now occupied by the Valley house a $200,000 station is to be erected within the neit five years, according ac-cording to the trms of the contract. However, the erection of the permanent etmoture will not be attempted at ores-ent ores-ent The work of constructing a tern- poraxy station will be started at once i and will bo completed within ninety davs. All tracks, however, will be of a permanent nature and will be so arranged, ar-ranged, as to permit their use by other internrban lines, if 60 desired. At the present, it was said yesterday, there are no prosnects of other interurban lines than the Salt Lake & Utah and the Salt Lake & Ogden railroads. As : soon as the tracks and temporary station sta-tion are completed the passenger trains , of the Orem and Bamberger lines will t be operated Into and out of the new terminus. The church donated the Valley house site, 121 feet, fronting on West Tem-! Tem-! pie and 330 feet on South Temple, valued val-ued at $75,000. Fifty-six and a half feet along West Temple was purchased from the West Temple Investment torn-panv torn-panv at $19,000. The purchase money rorjifs out of the $75,000 bonus donated bv the Xorth Main street business men. Some $58,000 was paid from the same bonus for 100 feet of ground In the block, extending through to First West. Two Entrances. A strip of thirteen and one-half feet of ground Iving adiacent to the Gold , , hotel site will be used. The West Tem-I Tem-I pie Investment company grants the ter-' ter-' minal company an easement over this ; for use of passengers to and from trains. The strip will extend back 330 tracks will be constructed through the block, entering the center ' ; luO-foot right of way from First Wet street. The north track will be known as the loading track for freight and express. ex-press. The other two will be used interchangeably in-terchangeably bv the Orem and Bam-' Bam-' berger lines. For instance, the Bamberger Bam-berger trains will come in over the t north track, unload its passengers, and departing will back out over the Orem I : (rslcK and automatically be turned '. around on the "Y" that is formed. HISTORIC old Valley house, at the corner of West South Temple and South West Temple, which is to be razed to make room for a new joint interurban terminal to be used by the Bamberger and Orem lines.
