If thought and consideration for others make people happy, then William Bowen 's enn of happiness was tilled and overflowing. Ho was our co-worker; he was 7.e.alous to a degree in all public work ; he was the young man 's counseior and friend; he was a man who always put alt Lake first. His precepts and example make life more full and complete for us. These are the heartfelt sentiments of the hoard of govern or of the Commercial club, nnd it is our desire de-sire that thn public be advised of them as such. By a rising vote thn foregoing resolution reso-lution of tribute to the late Vice president presi-dent of the organization was adopted unanimously by the board of governors of the Salt Iake Commercial club yesterday yes-terday noon, at a special meeting, to which it was submitted bv a special committee Dt. K L. Woodruff, W. W. Armstrong and W. V. Jon pen which had been named for that purpose. The board also a nnouncpd the honorary hon-orary 7allbearers selected from the club to attend the funeral this afternoon at 3 o 'clock at. Central Christian church, Fourth South and Third East streets, with interment nt Mount Olivet: Pr. K, T.v Woodruff, fleorge A. Steiner, W. J. Flalloran, F. C. Richmond, Will G. I'arrell, Wesley King, W. C. Orem, W. S. McCarthy, S. H. Love, F C. Schramm, S. U. Clay, W. W. Armstrong, E. O. Howard, F. W. Francis and Edward G. Kester. The club's floral tribute is a very large wreath of magnolia leaves wrought in conventional design to symbolize the cycle of a splendidly-rounded life. It rests ipon a base of Faster liliep, orchids or-chids and roses. The wreath is tied with a wide, rirh purple ribbon, inscribed in-scribed ''Salt Lake Commercial Club." The funeral services will be conducted bv the Kev. Peter A. Simpkin, pastor of Phillips Congregational church. He will also deliver the funeral sermon. The Rev. Chester A. Snyder, pastor of Central Christian church, was to have conducted the funeral service, but he wan seized with appendicitis Thursday evening and was taken to Holy Cross hospital, where Dr. C. J. Albangh operated. oper-ated. Six active pallbearers were selected from th1 oldest employees in point of service of the Crane company's branch house in Salt Lake, of which Mr. Bowen was local manager. They are Arthur .leukin. if. K. Aldous, L. B. Hampton K. L. SYliettler, E. H. Prummond and A. Dickinson. They were associated with Mr. Bowen in building up the concern con-cern 's business in the intermountain section. |
