DISCUSS PLANS TO I RECLAIM ARID LANDS To discuss the feasibility of reclaim-: be largo areas of -water-logged aud alkali al-kali iands in the Utah valley, a meeting meet-ing of representatives of canal companies compa-nies owning laud in the district and drainage experts will ,be held at Lehi on the night of November IP. One uf i the princ,ipal speakers for the meeting j will be J. C. Wheelon, drainage en- gineer of the "Utah-Idaho Sugar com- i pany. Wr..Wheeon ha reclaimed large I tracts of alkali and water-logged lands in the Bear River valley for the Utah-Idaho Utah-Idaho company and is now supervising the drainage of 10.000 acres in the vicinity vi-cinity of Corinne. in which the sugar company is interested. Through the work he has done in Utah, largelv for the sugar eompanv, Mr. Wheel on is recognized throughout' the west, as an authority on irrigation and drainage. Of such groat importance import-ance was his work considered that t.be Utah Agricultural college conferred upon him last spring a special degree,, ''.bachelor of irrigation.'
