Show LOWER MAMMOTH IS irEOODJDITiJ Several thousand shores of Ixwer Mammoth stock have changed hands during tho past few days' on the l rengtb of tho proposed dividend and its posting this week, says tho Fureka Reporter. The Lower Mammoth has made an ex.-reptionallv ex.-reptionallv fine record during the past few months, wiping out a rather healthy indebtedness and building up a aplen-did aplen-did reserve fund which U now being increased in-creased at the rate of a few thousand dollars per month. Three classes of ore are now boing mined nt this property; copper from tho 1000 level, S""me lead-silver rock from tho same depth and some excellent zinc ore Irom the 1500, 700 and 1800 levels. Recently two cars of zinc ore were forwarded for-warded to the hmeltcr, one being mined ou the company account and the other from a block of leased pjound. This ore carries from 30 to 33 per cent zinc and under existing conditions it will be good for a nice piece of monev. The copper oro form tho 1'HiO level, where the deposit is better than two feet in width and from which three shipments' i have alreadv been made, will average better than?'"' to the ton. The lead oro is a ut-w discovery and it is perhaps per-haps a little early to fay just what quantity of this ore is available for shipment. It was found in a new break on the hanging wall of the vein and recent assays show from 20 to 30 per cent. The distribution of a $10,000 dividend by tho company will be just a little unusual, un-usual, but then the mining game is full of surprises and tho average investor in mining stocks seems backward about buying unless he has a chance to get I his" money back during the firet year.' After drifting for about seventy feet on the new deposit of copper ore, recently re-cently encountered in the winze which was "sunk to a depth of 300 feet from the 600 level in the Iron Blossom mine, sinking has again been resumed, and while the work is being carried on in a lime formation everything indicates that the winze will soon be in ore again. A number of shipments have been taken out since the new body of copper cop-per was located and the large amount of work which has been done without getting get-ting a lino on the dimensions of the deposit de-posit indicates that the find willt go a long way toward making a new mine of the Iron Blossom. Stoping operations have not been taken up. but where the ore has been cut with the drift it carries car-ries from 12 to 15 per cent copper. The general condition of the Iron Blossom mine is highly encouraging to the local officials of the company and the present heavy tonnage is being taken from various levels and all parts of the property look good. A new utope of ore is being developed in the north end of the mine at a depth of 500 feet, this deposit being just north of the famous fa-mous Van stone, from which a large tonnage has already been taken. The ' East fissure ' ' is also producing its proportion of the mine's tonnage and conditions are ns encouraging as ever out in that new section of the company's com-pany's ground. |
