Show PBTS EXONERATED By COBEI'S JURY Accidental Death Is Verdict in Inquest Over Body of Athey Infant. Investigation Into Ihe death, on April D, of the Infant daughter of l.cter and Florence Athny concluded yesterday when a coroner's Jury rendered a verdict of death hy accident from suffocation before Acting Coroner H. S. Harper. Both Drs. Hardlr. Lynch and V. N. Push testified at the Inquest that tho body of the child bore no mark of any nature that could b(; regarded aa evidence evi-dence of violence as the cause of death. AIho, loth testified that the child, which weighed less than four pounds, could not have had a strong hold on life under un-der any circumstances. At variance with the testimony of tho physicians was ihc story that appeared ap-peared In a morning paper lust Monday morning, when It was stated that both doctors had found marks on tho little body that thoy regarded as "Indications of violence." Both doctors denied laat night that they had been interviewed by the newspaper. The greater pnrt of the morning was spent at yesterday's investigation in taking tak-ing the evidence of neighbor? of tho Athoys, who revealed only the fact that thoy knew nothing pertinent to the situation. situ-ation. This the mother did not deny. She admitted that the babe was taken from the Athey home to that of a neighbor who could furnish It with a comfortable home and proper care, and was brought back again after gonslp had frightened the principals, of the transaction that such a proceeding was unlawful.
