Show DECLARES FRANK IS INNOCENT OF CRIME ATLANTA. Ga April 22. That Leo M Frank, under sentence of death for the murder of Mary Phagan. 14 -year-old factory fac-tory employe, "Is not a pervert and Is Innocent In-nocent of the murder for which lie has bun convicted," Is tho substance of a report made public todny by the head of a national detective agency, who has been Investigating the case. The detective was employed by friends of Frank. The report asserted that Mary Phagan was killed by a "pervert of homicidal tendencies of the most pronounced type," and charges a negro, formerly employed as a sweeper at tho National Pencil factory fac-tory with tho crime. The hearings on the extraordinary motion mo-tion for a now trial and to set aside the verdict, which were to have been heard before the superior court today, were postponed. The extraordinary motion will be heard tomorrow and tho motion to set nsldo the verdict will be heard May 1. |
