Show JAPAN'S ATTITUDE. The Japanese government has dc- clared its position to be ono of the strictest neutrality during the trouble between tho United States and Mexico, proving conclusively that whatever opinion tho Japanese may hold regarding regard-ing the people of this country, thoy have sense enough nob to burn their fingers by playing with firo or got in the way when Uncle Sam unlimbcrs his big guns. It goes without saying that Japan could make a lot of trouble for this country by mixing in, but before they extricated themselves oven tho despised Koreans would flout their present taskmasters. The Japanese are sensitive and touchy over the California Cali-fornia alien land law, but they know better than to risk their present stand-' ing as a world power by engaging in a war with the United States. |
