Show I DEVISES BALLOT FOR PRIMARY ELECTIONS CHICAGO, March 26. Edmund Roach, former city purchasing agent, has devised a ballot for primary elections elec-tions which provides for a, circular arrangement ar-rangement of names. 3t is claimed for tho new ballot which has met with considerable con-siderable favor from election officials that it will do aAVuy with the cumbersome, cumber-some, long sheet and also will put an end to the quibbling for position. As now made up, the Democratic primary ballot contains -107 names and is seven feet long. The Roach plan would have the title of the office printed in the hub of a circle with the names of aspirants for the nomination diverging itoui it as the spokes of a wheel. There are thirty-two thirty-two circles on the sheet, providing for all offices. The ballot is printed on a sheet two feet square. It is urgued that it would do away with the rush in filing fil-ing petitions and. also make court fights for positions unnecessary. |
