Show TOIUOPM M1IIS HAVE RICH ODES New Discoveries Are Increas- ng Productive Area' to Great Extent. FUTURE , POSSIBILITIES Recent Developments in the Belmont and Montana-Tonopah Montana-Tonopah Mines. o With the awakening- of activity in To- nopah as a. result of tho extensive do-vclopments, do-vclopments, which have occurred in the mines of the camp cliiriusr the past few month?, the opening of the new oro bodies in the various properties is attracting at-tracting widespread attention, not only on account of the improvements In the developed de-veloped area but on account of tho following fol-lowing of the ore Bone.s into n. now section sec-tion which has been heretofore unpros-pectd. unpros-pectd. Tho recent disclosures In the property of the Tonopoh Belmont have evidenced a strontr possibility of the un- R! covering of ore In the llallfax-Tonopah Hw and in other proper! ls. The Halifax Ir Vm rapidly sinking Its shaft and expects ore within sixty days. K Nine Feet Wide. Hn The new vein cut. in the Dclmonf last week in south crosscut No. 6 from the 1100-foot level has now been proved to be nine feet wide of good ore. This vein Hj is west of the shaft in the extreme west Hj of Hie Belmont vein and immediately east of the Belmont fault. No work will H' yet he done on the vein and it is one KIJ of fully ten different veins cut in varl- Hh ous crosscuts north and south from dlf-ferent dlf-ferent levels which will be further ex- Hf plored by drifts when time permits. On the twelfth level drifting east on 1 t lie hanging wall of tho main Belmont vein has ocmi resumed, the ore showing improved values. Crosscuttlng of the vein back from the face is also in prog-ress prog-ress to determine the width between. The HR north crosscut to tho hanging . wall is E passing through pood ore. The south crosscut passed through sood ore, but tho face is now In waste; but there Js prob- 7 ably good ore behind tills. Tho cast drift on the 'Little "Belle vein shows that the pay shoot has decreased slightly in width. hilt this is compensated for by increased Hi values. K Montana-Tonopah. V The further development of the big ore shoot abojje the first, intermediate level K'f of the afontana-Tonopah mine demon- W, strates that it Is extending both east and west, and that the full limits of the i ore on its course have not yet been as- Hj certained. In previous references to this ore body it has been described as a por-tlon por-tlon of the Macdonald vein, but the work fl done subsequent to its first discovery proves that it Is really an intersection Vi of that vein and the vein cut In sinking 1 the shaft ten years ago and more cor-1 cor-1 rectly belongs to the latter vein. I This vein has never been very exten- Hj sively prospected between the levels and where cut in the shaft, and on d Iff rent 'levels has happened to he broken up and to carry poor values. It Is now being opened up below by the raise from the 165-foot level and lis downward exten-sion exten-sion is again found in the stope above the 515-foot level, where It has here-tofore here-tofore been described as the Mlzpah Fault vein, in which very good ore indeed Js now showing, although not yet as rich j as in tho big stope. Value Not Overestimated. The establishment of tiiis fact is most important as owing to the fiat angle at which the vein dips, It will, when opened up. yield an Immense tonnage of splcn-j splcn-j did ore botween tho 515 and its present j dopth of 350 foet, with an additional very large tonnage from that point up to the cap rock, a distance of 125 feet. Its im-portance im-portance to the company as tlie source of supply of a very large tonnage of high-grade high-grade ore has not therefore been over-- over-- estimated. Tlie new vein on the 615-foot level cou-Mimes cou-Mimes to develop most satisfactorily. It has now been drifted on east for twenty-five twenty-five feet and maintains an average width of three feet and average values of 150 ounces silver and from an ounce and a. quarter to an ounce and a. half in gold, with pieces assaying over Ave ounces in gold and proportionately high silver con- Boston Mining Stocks. .James A, Pollock & Co.. bankers and brokers, furnish the following, received oyer Ihelr private wire yesterday after-noon: after-noon: BOSTON COPPISH "RANGE.
