The Tunkco Consolidated company Is still prospecting Ua 200 level, In an uuort to locato the northern extension ot the Beck Tunnel-Colorado ore r.ono, and, In addition to this, some extensive development develop-ment work Is being done on the 2000 level of tho mine, says the Eureka Reporter. When the Yankee management "first started looking for tho oro, which should naturally make Into this ground from tho properties on tho south, most of the prospecting pros-pecting was dona several hundred foot from the surface, the shaft being down to the 2000 level. The last carload shipped by tho Yankee sold for ubout J5.05 a hundred and notted the company better than JC00. This shipment consisted of exceptionally good oro. running about 37 por cent zinc. The Yankee's output of lend and zinc oro Is about fifty tons a week. Thoro has beon some talk during the past fow days regarding a now strlko at the Victoria mine, and while It Is said there Is nothing authontlo In the report, It Is a fact that there has boon an Important Im-portant change on tho 1100 level, from which point tho management Is getting a large portion of the prosont heavy tonnage. Tho 1100 level was one of tho first levels to be developed after the Victoria Vic-toria company stopped oporatlona through tho Grand Central and commenced the development of its proporty through the Victoria shaft. A considerable amount of ore has been shipped from that part of tho mine, but the present showing Is about the best In the history of tho property. prop-erty. From thirty to thirty-five tons of good oro aro being taken from thlB lovel daily. Ore Will Yield Profit. The values are gold, silver and copper, cop-per, and the oro Is rich enough to bring tho company a nice rovonuc. Within the next few days a connection will bo made between tho 1030 and 900 levels, a raise having already followed a promising shoot of ore most of tho distance between be-tween thoso two points. In addition to being of benefit In handling the Victoria ore In that part of tho proporty, the raise will also afford better ventilation. The November shipments from tho Victoria Vic-toria were heavier than for any previous month of tho year, and tho December tonnage is expected to be even larger. The first carload of oro from the Tlntlc Tln-tlc Standard proporty Is now on It3 way to the smelter. Assays mado from samples sam-ples taken while the ore was being loaded Indicate that the Initial shipment will average up bettor than $50 a ton. .Most of tho oro was taken out In tho process of developing the 1000 level, tho balance boing taken from the winze which is now being sunk from that level. The winze has now reached a depth of about thirty-eight thirty-eight foot and tho streak of high-grade ore which It has beon following Is apparently ap-parently widening, and the entire vein Is looking stronger and better than It did a fow weeks ago. The western section of tho Gold Chain mtno Is now being developed from both tho 1500 and 1S00 lovols of tho Lower Mammoth mine, and It Is learned that some valuable bunches of ore are being found. By working from tho Lower Mummoth much greater depth can bo attained at-tained In tho Gold Chain. Thla work Is opening two soparnto fissures which tho management has for some time boon anxious to prospect. |
