The people of Now York City are congratulating themselves upon the receipt re-ceipt of beef from Argentina, which undersells tho market, and upon the prospect of the cheapening of meats generally by shipments from South America. It is stated that a meat and packing combine in Argentina is thus invading the Armour territory, getting UP a meal war which will" have great beneficial consequence for tho people of the United States. Tho probability is, however, that the Armour company and the SouLU -.Lmari . can company will presently combine in accord with the feeling that is so generally gen-erally acted upon in these days of combination, com-bination, and will agree, not only upon tho markets that oath will supply, but upon tho prica which each will charge to its customers.
