Show BLAME HIGH HEELS A! HOBBLE SKIRTS New York Railroad Officials Recount the Accidents. Suffered Suf-fered by Women. By International News Service. N13W YORK, .Tunc 15. High heels and hobble skirts arc responsible for a large proportion of the accidents to women getting get-ting on or off trains and going up or down stairways or inclines in stations. This conclusion has been reached by the Pennsylvania railway officials after an Investigation of the causes of increased number of such accidents in the past three months. The injuries ranged from slight contusions con-tusions to painful sprains and cuts. Typical of the causes set forth in the report are: Heel caught on stop of coach and torn off. high heel caught while descending stairs; wore hobble skirts. At the Grand Central station the same experience has been reported. 'Tho Inclines here don't cause much trouble for high heels." explained ono of the special policemen. "It is the steps that gets wearers in trouble, but there's not a day passes that some woman wearing a hobble doesn't trv to run down one of tho Inclines and nine times out of ten tho runner tumbles tum-bles and rolls around like a man with a swarm of bees down Ills back.
