It Is only the arrival of transformers trans-formers required that prevents quicker work at the Arthur plant, and these should he on hand by the 1st of June. By the process of revamping the Arthur Ar-thur concentrating plant along the lines of Improvement Indicated by tlmo and experience, the Utah Copper management, manage-ment, the pioneer in concentrating low-grade low-grade monzonite copper ores, has taken the Arthur mill, to which it fell heir on the consolidation with the Boston Consolidated Con-solidated company, and will have Increased In-creased lis dally capacity from 3000 to about S000 tons or better. This splendid performance is directly in keeping with the feature so prominent in this new branch of copper mining, for in every way the various organisations engaged have exceeded the preliminary plans with case. The Magna concentrator of tho Utah Copper company, by a similar process of revamping, has Increased Its dally tonnage ton-nage capacity 100 per cent, bringing It to 12,000 tons dally. With both mills In service by July at their full capacity, the company will handle 20.000 tons of low-grade ore dally, and it Is likely that both plants will exceed their respective limits in achml practice. |
