LOS ANGELES, May 20. -Tho body of tho man found floating In tho Inner har-bor-yosterday, with a fractured skull-and his hands tied to a heavy iron bar, was identified today a3 that of Bernard Rein, a 6hoet metal worker from Detroit. Tho Identification was made this nftornoon by Frances Anna Rein, tho widow. , and by S. J. Evans, an Insurance man. Rein came to Loa Angeles from Detroit De-troit in February and wont down to tho harbor May 1 to take a boat for Sun Francisco for the purpose of purchasing machinery. When ho disappeared he ha1 about $1000 and valuablo Jewelry in hl3 possosoion. A telegram was received from San Francisco purporting to havo been sent by him May 3, saying he was going east. It . is . not believed, however, that ho went to San Francisco, but that he waa killed here and his body thrown Into the bay. Mrs. Rein said that the clothing found on his body had been substituted for his own. W. H. Rein, a son. resides In Detroit, De-troit, Mich., and the bodv has been ordered or-dered sent to that city for burial. DETROIT. May 20. W.
