The following letter of congratulation of the work of tho high school cadet battalion has been sent to Principal George A. Eaton by Gov. William Spry: i June 1. 1911. Prof. George A. Iaton: It has been my Intention, since witnessing the recent exhibition ex-hibition by the students of the Salt Lake high school, to convey my wannest congratulations con-gratulations on tho success of the same. I have been fortunate In attending several of thcsn annual events and each succeeding exhibition has impressed me more an more with the excellence of this institution in our local high school. The work of the cadets is nothing short of remarkable. I believe that the discipline disci-pline which the boys receive in this training train-ing will be of unlimited benefit to them in whatever field of human endeavor they may exert themselves. Aside from the feature of" discipline. I am a firm believer In this military training, believing that it is one of the greatest assets to our nation. On every hand I have heard nothing but highest praise and commendation commen-dation of the work of the high school cadets. ca-dets. The calisthcnic and dancing features by the young ladles arc in the same class with tho work of the cadets. Their exhibition ex-hibition was wholesome and thoroughly enjovablc. Interspersed with the school work. I believe that it is a wonderful factor In the physical development and health of the girls. Permit me to assure you of my personal per-sonal and official pleasure and satisfaction satisfac-tion in this most excellent feature of the high school work and to express my sincere sin-cere wish that the military spirit of the school may never be diminished.
