The manufacturer of a TOOTH POWDER, or a FACE CREAM, or a CLOAK AND SUIT manufacturer, manu-facturer, might advertise in a girls' seminary magazine maga-zine and REASONABLY EXPECT TO GET A. RETURN RE-TURN FOR HIS MONEY; but why iL kicojnotive wrks (should advertise in it is hard to explain. Certainly not for any advertising value it might possess. The only possible chance the Baldwin Locomotive Works might have of getting results from the advertisement advertise-ment is that one of the girls might marry, some day, the president of a railroad, and if she remembered the fact that the Baldwin Locomotive Locomo-tive Works advertised in her seminary magazine, she might suggest to her husband hus-band that he equip his rail- i road with Baldwin locomotives. locomo-tives. But THAT'S WAITING A LITTLE BIT LONG FOR RESULTS. WASTED ADVERTISING ADVERTIS-ING is like waste in everything every-thing else. It MUST BE AVOIDED if a business is to prosper. (To ho continued.) |
