Show C1ITV CONCERT IS GREAT SUCCESS Society Attends Pleasing Musical Music-al Affair and Assists in Worthy Cause. Perfect in every respect, was the concert con-cert given Tuesday evening at tho First Congrogatlonal church for the benefit of the reading room for the blind In the public llbrars. The affair was glvun under un-der the direction of a number of society women. The church was well filled, the audience showing Its approval with liberal lib-eral applause. Sbcletv was well represented at the concert, the greater part of social Salt Lake being present to assist In the name of "Gwoet charlts " Thoso taking part were Edward Kimball at the organ In "Marche Roligeuse on Themes," from "Lohengrin," by Wagnor-Duboio; Miss Florence Page Kimball in "Elegle." by Mnssent; '"Serenade " by Campbell-Tipton, and "If Is'o Ono Ever Marries Me," by Liza l.ehmann; Fred Smith in the aria, "Magic Flute." by Mozart; George Skelton with the violin in "La. Com-plaisantc." Com-plaisantc." by Bach, and "Zephyrs." by Hubny, Mrs. A, S. Peters In "Like a Rosebud." by La Forgo, and "A Birthday," Birth-day," bs R. Huntington Woodman; Miss Ss'bella Clayton In an etude by Chopin; M J. Brines in "Songs My Mother Taught. Me." by Dvorak, nnd "Telling Her," by Bliss; Miss Mary Hortense Kimball In the aria, ''Vlsal D'Arte La Tosca," by Puccini, Puc-cini, and "The Years at. tho Spring," by Mn. H PI. Beach; Mrs. Flora Parsons Stevenson in "Gondolier," by Liszt,. "Magic Flro Scone," by Wagner, und the storm etude bs Chopin, the programme being concluded with A. J. KIsselburg and Miss Florence Pago Kimball In "Passage "Pas-sage Bird's Farewell," by Eugene HI1-dach. HI1-dach. The accompanists were the MIsaes Mlnnette Baor. Lorccn Leary and Mrs. George Skelton. The ushers were all members of tho younger set of tho cits, prettily dressed In dalnts evening gowns, which made the picture a most pleasing one. Those who have had charge of the affair af-fair are quite well pleased, as moro than 3425 was realized from the affair. |
