MERCHANTS DECORATE PLACES OF BUSINESS Special to The Trlbuno. OGDEN", Aug. 7. Merchants and hual-j ness men got busy today and the storo or office building In the business center of tho city which did not show somo hunting or other decorative effect lato this afternoon after-noon was in the minority. Some of the decorations display considerable consid-erable taste ami artistic effect In addition addi-tion to the original patriotic purpose. Tho hnndsomo arch on the east side of the union depot, symbolic of the gateway of the city, with red. whllo and blue letters, "Welcome, G. A. ft ." as well as tho other decorations, exterior and Interior, at the depot have been greatly admired. Tho decorations at the city building and Central park surrounding the building also show a considerable amount of tnste and skill. Electric lights hove been strung n round the evergreen hedges surrounding the building and will bo lighted each evening even-ing during the encampment.
