Excelsior camp and Great Salt Lake camp met together In the .Oddfellows' hall last Tuesday evening to' welcome National Lecturer J. O. Davis. .The meeting meet-ing was an open one, the public being Invited, and a crowded house was the result. Never before have the fraternal societies of Salt Lako heard such an orator, ora-tor, and those neighbors who heard the speech were greatly benefited. Neighbor Davis related how fifty Modern Woodmen in Los Angoles had their skin grafted onto a strange Woodman, in order to save his life, and 'also he related how he spent $17,000 In San Francisco on behalf be-half of tbe society during the recent earthquake. He was full of original storlfs, and had his audience In good humor for an hour and a half. The musical musi-cal programme was excellent and refreshments refresh-ments a'ere served. There was ,a largo crowd present, and evory one spent a very pleasant evening. The first lady's prize for progressive high flvo ,was won by Hattle Kopp, a handsome purse. The gentlemen's rirst prize, a handsome pair of suspenders, was won by Mrs. Annie Davey, she playing the part of a gentleman. gen-tleman. The second ladles' prize, a hand-painted hand-painted pitcher, was won by Dr Love. Tho gentlemen's second prize, a smoking set, was awarded M. A. Sherman. Mrs. J. Sauer and Mr. Frank Baer wero consoled by tho booby prizes, having won no games. After the prizes had been awarded, Dr. Love, special organizer for the Women of Woodcraft, delivered a very Interesting Interest-ing address on Woodcraft. After this all udjourned to the banquet room, where the long tables were loaded with the choicest all had done Justice to the banquet ban-quet the tables were removed and dancing danc-ing wus Indulged In till n late hour. Tho Thimble club will meet with Mrs. Elizabeth Gall, 313 West Fifth South street, next Thursday afternoon. She will be assisted in se'rving by Neighbor Wright. Past Noblo Grand Club. Fraternal Brotherhood. Sego Lily No. 252, "The Never Sleep" lodge of T. F. B held another well-attended and Interesting meeting Wednesday Wednes-day evening. One candidate was Initiated. The escort team, under Captain U. S. Grant, did some fine floor work and fancy drilling. The treasurer surprised the members by presenting a fine five-pound box of chocolates. Brother Servla would not divulge any secrets concerning his surprises, for the single brothers at our next meeting, February 21. AH visiting members of the order are urged to be present, and those especially willing to assist the single men to defeat the onslaughts on-slaughts to be made against them. Pythian Sisters. Hcrmlone temple No. 8 again did honors Friday evening by entertaining Mr. and Mrs. Dudley, Mr. and Mrs. Gavin and Mr. and Mrs. Leamtn of Bingham Canyon temple. One candidate was inlttated. by the officers, and a full drill team of sixteen six-teen members, eight ladles wearing tho colors of the order and eight men wearing wear-ing carnations. The work was' well given and was appreciated by the crowded hall of sisters. After a few well chosen remarks re-marks by the members, the temple closed. All banqueted at the College Inn; all gavo three cheers for the hospitality of Brother SeyboldL. Boyal Neighbors of America. Salt Lake Valley camp. No. 3072, held a special moctlns: last Tuesday evening for Initiation of candidates. Captain McCarthy Mc-Carthy is doing fine work with her drill team, and In a short time will be prepared pre-pared to compete with the best.
