Show TRY IT ONOE! We find in last evening's church organ or-gan tho following editorial paragraph: If the leaders of the "Mormon" church were guilty of tho sins of omission and commission with which the organ of tho psuudo-Amerlcan party charges them, nothing could bo so disappointing to tho organ as to have them repent of them. Hate, vilification, and vituperation aro the very breath of Its nostrils. Well, suppose the leaders of the Mormon Mor-mon church try it once. You never cnu be sure of a thing of that lciud, especial- from the bigoted, fanatical Mormon Mor-mon standpoint, unless the proper test is made. It is quite conceivable that if tho Mormon leaders were to repent of their guilt in sins of omission aud commission commis-sion the "hate, vilification, and vituperation vitu-peration " which tho church organ pretends pre-tends to find in The Tribune's columns, but which, in fact, aro not there, would be altogether invisible, even to tho warped and prejudiced spectacles used bvr the NewsH writer. Nothing could possibly give so much pleasure to The Tribune, as to have the ' Mormon leaders depart from their crooked wa3-s and some out into the open as good, law-abiding citizens, keepers of pledges of honor, and upholders up-holders of, without undertaking to control, con-trol, civil government. If these Mor- mon leaders would do this, cvcr3'thing that tho church organ affects to seo in The Tribune- by way of "hate, vilification, vilifica-tion, and vituperation" would fall aw.'i as a garment that is outworn. |
