Show BOSiNESS BRISK OK IRE LOCAL MARKETS Stands Now Look Prettier and More Tempting Than for Some Time. Busirfess was quite brisk oh the Salt Lake produce market Tuesday. The day, however, was an ideal one for shopping and this fact tho dealers attributed to be the cause for the sudden pick-up In trade, as the previous day was a very "slow" one. The stands on market row looked prettier Tuesday than they have for some weeks. The display of vegetables was exceptionally ex-ceptionally good for this time of tho year, and. taken together with the warm, bright sunshine and the mild temperature. It almost seemed as If spring had come. The consignment of fruit and vegetables vege-tables which was received from California Monday was placed on the market yesterday yester-day morning and the Golden State fruit added much to the display. Prices Tuesday Tues-day were very steady, there being no changos recorded Oranges were very plentiful and were offered at 25 to 40 cents a dozen. A shipment of Malaga grapes pnt In an appearance Tuesday. The delicacy was Imported from , Spain. Malaga grapes are somewhat larger than the regular grapes and are usually tho shape of an egg, tapering at one end. They are also considered sweetor than the regular regu-lar grape. The price, too, Is considerably higher. Nuts continue to be very plentiful and tho prices of the product remain unchanged. un-changed. Walnuts are offered at 20 cents a pound and almonds at 25 cents. Mixed nuts "fetch" 20 cents a pound. Evaporated Traits. NEW TORK. Dec. 29. The market for evaporated apples Is quiet, but such fruit as Is strictly tip to grade is firmly held. Prunes aro somewhat unsettled In tone, with quotations ranging from 42c to 7ic for California, and from 6c to 9c for Oregon Ore-gon fruit, the latter from 50s to 30s.
