The city of Salt Lake will have such an upturning in political affairs as will make the church-ridden church-ridden parties wonder what happened. After careful inquiry into the needs and . faults of tho organization of the American party, and consultation with many of the men who are recognized as the lenders of the party in Salt Lake City, the American party city commit-too commit-too decided to urge upon Chairman J. E. Darmor, of the county central committee, com-mittee, to undertake the management of the city campaign. Chairman Darmer Teluctantly ' consented con-sented to enter again into a contest that means so much, but ho yielded to his friends and to the party organization, his selection was mado uuauiniousby. To further facilitate tho work, Chairman Chair-man Darmor was instructed to surround sur-round himself with an executive coin-mitten coin-mitten and to further prepare for an aggressive campaign. lie therefore J. Chairman Darmer and other members of the executive committee arc confident confi-dent of succcbb next November, because be-cause U1C3- believe a better organization organiza-tion will be effected than has been witnessed wit-nessed in Salt Lake in many yoarB. "T appreciate the fact that we havo a great work before us," said Chairman Darmer last night, "but tho cause for which wo are confident is such that when presented to the progressive men and women will appeal to them and enlist their support. Beyond a quostion, the American V.rty is stronger in Salt Lako than ever before. I any this knowing that dissatisfaction is found in some quarters owing to the indifference of some officials in the interests of the public. But these things will fade into in-to insignificauce when brought into the light of the pub'lic spirit that has been the administration 's general aims. Salt Lake was never so prosperous, ft was never in bettor favor by the general public, Tt miisfc not take a step backward, back-ward, and it will not if Americans lay aside their personal differences and their personal ambitions and strive to ' aid those who have the cause of tho ' party in hand.'' Tho selection of a secretary has not ' yet been made, but this will bo an- ' nounccd within a few days. |
