Show HAS NARROW ESCAPE FROM DROWNING Six-Year-Old SoVofJLX Hayes Finally Is Rescued; News Notes From Riclilield, Special to The Tribune. RICHFJELD, July 7. Doan, the 6 -y oar-old oar-old son of IJ. N. Hayes, had a very closy call from drowning in thc Sevier river yesterday afternoon, and little Arllc Bean, son of Bishop VlrginJus Uean, nearly loat his life In trying to rescue his companion. These and other boys wero with .Mr. Jican at the river, and while he was fishing fish-ing at thc Vermilion dam thc boys were playing on the sand bars below the dam. Tho IJaycs boy ventured a little too far and went Into deep water. Tho "Hcim lad Jumped in after him. and both wcro carried car-ried down the stream together. Roecoe Henplor, a little older than the other two. also sprang Into the water, and managed to keep the boys partially above the surface until Mr. Bean could be summoned sum-moned and get them out. The Hayes boy was unconscious when taken from thc stream, but by working with him for a while he was finally resuscitated. 1 At a caucus held last evening for tile purpose of nominating a nonpartisan candidate can-didate for school trustee, H. N. Hayes was renominated to succeed himself on the board. An effort was made to place an opposing candidate against Mr. Hayes, but the effort failed. 11 The meeting called for yesterday afternoon after-noon to consider a proposition from tho promoters of n Hiigsir factory In Sanpete county wa.s so sllmly attended that nothing noth-ing was done. Whatever the proposition the Sanpete people might have to offer, the sentiment prevailed that the growoiH of this county should not Ho thomaelvus up to the support of the Sanpeto proposition proposi-tion more than supplying It with beets from year to year, not binding themselves up with any long-time contracts.
